Chicago turns up the volume today as Lollapalooza returns to Grant Park for four days of live music, big crowds and lakefront energy.
Thursday’s lineup is led by Lorde and Chicago’s own John Summit. Major Lazer, Boris Brejcha, Zara Larsson, Ethel Cain, Kettama, Kingfishr, Snow Strippers and Filipino pop group SB19 are also set to perform.
The weekend keeps building with Charli xcx, The Smashing Pumpkins, JENNIE, Olivia Dean, Tate McRae and The xx among this year’s headliners. In total, more than 100 artists will appear across eight stages.
A little history: Lollapalooza began as a touring festival in 1991 and made Chicago its permanent home in 2005. Beyond the music, the festival says it has invested more than $3.9 million in Chicago Public Schools arts education programs since 2021.
Festival gates are scheduled to open daily at 11 a.m., with performances ending by 10 p.m.
