The Fire continue their strong Leagues Cup run with another victory at SeatGeek Stadium.
BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. — Chicago Fire FC delivered another strong Leagues Cup performance Sunday night, defeating Liga MX side Santos Laguna 3-1 at SeatGeek Stadium.
The match remained competitive deep into the second half, but Chicago took control late. Anton Salétros put the Fire ahead 2-1 near the end of regulation before Chicago added another goal to secure the 3-1 victory.
The result gives the Fire back-to-back wins in the tournament after opening their Leagues Cup campaign with a 2-0 victory over Club Necaxa on Thursday.
Chicago has now scored five goals across its first two Leagues Cup matches while allowing just one.
The Fire will have little time to slow down. Their third and final Phase One match comes Thursday, Aug. 13, when Chicago faces Mexican powerhouse Cruz Azul.
With two wins already secured, Chicago heads into that matchup carrying plenty of momentum — and a strong start to its 2026 Leagues Cup campaign.
