GLENVIEW, Ill. — A new 85-foot mural celebrating the natural character of Glenview’s West Fork will be unveiled Monday, Sept. 14, during a public ribbon-cutting in Downtown Glenview.
Titled “Confluence, Life Along Glenview’s West Fork,” the 85-by-15-foot work transforms the west-facing wall of Shoppers Row into a large-scale tribute to the waterway and nearby landscapes preserved and restored by the Village of Glenview.
A public moment for Downtown Glenview
The Glenview Art League will host the unveiling from 4 to 5 p.m. at 1746 Glenview Road. The community is invited to see the completed artwork, hear from speakers and meet the artists who helped bring the project to life.

The event is expected to include music, refreshments and remarks from community participants. Lead artist Anne Farley Gaines will be among those recognized during the program.
A mural rooted in place
Confluence takes its inspiration from the West Fork and the natural spaces around it. The scale of the new installation gives a highly visible Downtown Glenview wall a lasting civic purpose: a work of public art that connects local ecology, shared history and everyday life in the village.
According to the Village of Glenview, the project received support through Cook County’s Arts Creative Placemaking grant program. The village announced the planned unveiling on Aug. 31.
